A heart-warming story of a villain you can’t help but love. Gru (Steve Carell), needs to prove and gain his title back as the World’s #1 villain. So together with Dr. Nefario (Russell Brand) and his army of minions, they planned to steal the moon! Yup, to shrink it - then steal it. A plan which unfortunately been foiled by Vector (John Segel), the new and younger super-villain in town.
Gru adopts three little orphaned girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes - used them to get to Vector, steal the shrink ray back and finally be able to steal the moon.
What he wasn’t prepared for however, is the change in him brought about by the growing love for these kids who sees him as their dad. He may have failed in his grand scheme, but he did make his mom proud in the end. Everybody happy – including me! :D
Li’l Agnes and the minions are just adorable. A funny and touching movie at the same time. Awww moments would be when the kids and the minions offered their savings because the bank disapproved the loan. As well as when Gru read the new bedtime story – a book he actually wrote!
It goes: One big unicorn, strong and free, thought he was happy as he could be. Then three little kittens came around and turned his whole life upside down. They made him laugh, they made him cry. He never should have said goodbye. And now he knows he can never part from those three little kittens that changed his heart.
Awww. ♥
